STORY & AIMS

Our Story:

Deaf Positives Action was founded in 2011 as a not-for-profit Community Interest Company (CIC). Our small team is Deaf-led and made up of permanent staff, freelancers and volunteers who work with and support the Deaf, Deafblind and hard of hearing community.

The company was established to reach those individuals who were in the greatest of need, suffering hardship, disadvantaged (through their disability), vulnerable, isolated or marginalised from their culture and society.

Over the years, we have worked with and built relationships with local authorities, social services and other organisations to offer help and support for the Deaf community.

We are committed to delivering professional services for the Deaf community which include: information and advice, Advocacy, employment advice, deaf awareness training, British Sign Language (BSL) courses and In-vision translation service.

You can find more information on our Services and Training pages.
